Good morning Zeta Halo!!! Today I have a special figure for you Spartans, my personal Halo CE Mark V Spartan!
For once I made a figure that has 0 3d printed parts, a pure Mega figure. And my first personal figure in a while. Feels weird actually keeping a figure for once.
Well anyways, Mark V Spartans are a blast to paint! Even though my entire goal as a customizer is to improve upon Megas figures. I gotta hand it to them, their Mark V molds are incredible! There so satisfying to paint due to the simplicity of CE’s style and color placement. Especially apparent with the calves, they just look so damn good! Enough of me fan girling over the parts, time to talk about the paint job. For my personal fig I did a 2:1:1 mix of blue, silver, and white paired with a blue wash to get that vibrant light blue metallic look from the original CE. I wanted this figure to be as accurate as possible. Which is also reflected in the details and free handing I did on some of the parts like the thighs and legs. I thought the free handing was going to be much more of a pain than it actually was. A tiny brush and some nicely thinned paint came in very handy for those lines. Probably my best line work on a figure so far. When I originally had my Spartan planned out I was going to paint a CE magnum but I decided to go with the classic MA5B. You can see just how much better I’ve gotten with the comparison between this figure and my old CE Chief figure.
