Behind the scenes: One of the Mega Construx’s design team’s priorities when planning out the 2020 Halo line was an increased focus on storytelling. It was important to us that each set had the right elements (the main build, the figures and accessories) to allow kids and fans of all ages to create their own adventures. By including a play set in the line, it could anchor the action in a central location. We also planned out the line to include rivalries between sets. The anti-aircraft turret was a natural opponent for the Pelican.
The build itself took at least 6 design attempts to get right. The three-legged structure posed the biggest challenge. On the parts front, the Brute jump pack was retooled to fit super poseable figures. This part had not been used in at least the last 6 years. We were glad to be able to bring it back. Master Chief has a different deco than other versions in the line. Here his armor has a light coating of dust and dirt.
