"They came back. S-Second squadron, they came back... God... [Loud thump, and a gasp. Ten seconds of silence.] "T-They had been missing for over a week now, after being sent to investigate some large alien structure out in the desert far beyond the hills..." [Distinct shotgun blast impacting metal. Followed by more incoherent distant yelling and screaming.] "F-Fifty minutes ago corporal Pakkard came back to the depot... His gear covered head to toe in blood and sand... He broke down in the middle of the camp screaming and sobbing, saying that his team was coming right behind him, that they didn't... Wouldn't die, and we all were next. Begging us to all leave the planet ri-..." [A blood curdling scream interrupts, a loud snap following grotesque chocking noises soon afterwards before another ten seconds of silence.]
[Twenty seconds of gentle sobbing, the gunfire and shouting outside slowly becoming less and less, howling growing louder and much more frequent] "We should have listened... God why didn't we-... W h y..." [Deep breath, slow prolonged exhale.] "Not long after the master sergeant demanded we all get back to our post and throw Pakkard in the holding cells, the rest of his team came shambling over the hill top... Blood... So much blood... Their heads gone... N-no, not gone. Malformed, mutated, their limbs twisted and broken, changed... What might've once been sergeant Williams screamed out like nothing I could ever imagine in my darkest, most sinister dreams, then it all started... Everything after that is a blur... I locked myself in the cockpit of one of our pelicans." [Deep inhale, sharp exhale] "The Pilot is dead outside... I can't escape... I don't want to die... Please... I don't want to be /next/."

[Sobbing and crying. GLASS SHATTERING.] "YOU CAN'T HAVE ME, I WON'T LET YOU!!! I-... I!!!" [Small firearm chambering.] [Sniffling] "God save us all" [GUNSHOT] " . . .
