I was digging about through my Photobucket archive and found these pics from 5+ years ago. At the time I was on a bit of a custom Halo figs and weapons kick and this ODST sniper team was one of the beneficiaries. The first three pics were taken several months prior to the last pair. The trio represent my first pass and the latter pair, some further figure detailing refinements and cooler custom weapons.
I've never attempted epoxy sculpting or 3D printed parts so the figure modifications were restricted to custom paint hits here and there, some pop-n-swaps, and a bunch of added bling courtesy of Tiny Tactical, MiniFigCat, BrickArms, etc. Note that the updated versions added ice axes and some pauldron-mounted long gun ammunition. As an interesting aside, these figs remain an active part of our collection despite not being of the later super-articulated variety. In order to achiever a more realistic size difference between bulky armored Spartans and human civilians, marines, and ODSTs, we've largely stuck with old-school versions of the latter three.
While I've been customizing and cobbling together scratch-made custom Halo themed weapons for awhile, the pair of long guns in the final two pics are some of my best. The iconic Bungie era SRS 99DS2 features a customized muzzle brake and scope making the weapon truer to the in-game render. The other long gun is a MOC. My SRS-103S SOCOM suppressed sniper rifle fills a tactical hole in the Halo universe. According to official canon, there are many suppressed UNSC weapon variants. No mention of a suppressed sniper rifle though and all of the official sniper rifles are ridiculously overpowered anti-material weapons. Clearly this left room for a suppressed sniper rifle which would offer additional tactical options for spec-ops troops.
