An overhead shot and some close-ups of my quad rotor helicopter custom. The loadmaster's seat faces rearwards with a large armored plastic wind screen overlooking the loading area. There are downwards angled floodlights at the front and rear of the engine nacelles to illuminate the payload area and landing site for night operations. The winches and magnetic load hooks are mounted outboard of the rotor pods front and rear. The Dragonfly landing gear includes both wheels and skids to facilitate both paved and soft surface landings. The UH-288B has teeth. It features both a chin and tail mounted M247H heavy machine gun turret controlled by the pilot and loadmaster respectively. The two guns are aimed using targeting monocles integrated into the crew's flight helmets. Aiming is user's line of sight with the gun turret tracking the user's helmet and eye movement. In addition to the suppressive fire the pair of heavy machine guns can lay down, the UH-288B has an automated Guardian Defensive Turret located amidships beneath the helicopter's central spine. Without human intervention this turret automatically identifies and locks onto incoming missile or directed projectile and plasma threats. A split second later the Guardian turret launches an intervening barrage of blinding hot flares and metal foil streamers in the path of the incoming threat trajectory in an effort to either harmlessly divert or prematurely detonate the incoming threat.
