Some pics of a custom discrete brick-built Halo Reach/Halo 4 Gauss Hog turret I came up with in 2012. This was a year prior to the Mega Bloks Night Ops Gausshog hitting stores in 2013. The first and last pics are of the completed build while the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th were WIP pics. There were a bunch of parts that I customized in order to get the build really dialed in. I was pretty psyched about the build at the time.
While Mega Bloks pretty handily one-upped me appearance-wise when the Night-Ops Gauss Hog hit the street, they did so with a couple of new molds that encompassed 90% of the Gauss cannon! Funnily enough my discrete brick build which had 5x the parts count of MCX's new cannon was actually the more stable build- LOL! On the official MCX build, most folks complained about the sloppy, floppy fit of the single friction pin mounting of the gun barrel to the turret base assembly.
