Day 2 of Building The Elephant

This was a fairly long build taking several hours over two days, but maybe not the longest build I’ve ever done. The detail is fantastic, the accessories are pretty nice and the figures are, to be honest, a little lack luster. For the price, I would have liked to see some more paint detailing, but I’m happy to add those myself later on. For the price ($200 normally though currently on sale on Amazon for about $190 usd) it’s still a pretty nice set if you can afford it. I was only missing one piece; a grenade that seems to have been replaced with a random nub that I assume was just some weird imperfection at hat slipped into the set somehow. One other small gripe I have is the usage of the Halo Reach/4/Infinite machine gun turret. It’s a very small nitpick, that you could easily overlook, and if you can’t then you can fix it with a small hack. I just cut down a small tube piece I had lying around, used a small t-shaped piece and used an extra turret I had from maybe the building box or something. It’s not perfect but it makes me happy! It’s a great set to be sure and I would definitely recommend it if you can afford it, but if you can’t then maybe it will be on sale in the future like a lot of other pricier sets have as of late. But maybe start saving now if it looks like something you don’t want to miss.
