Well, this was certainly unexpected.
When I made my first post on this site way back on June 14, 2016, I never could’ve imagined all of the memories I’d make, the friendships I’d form, or the stories I’d share. And I never could’ve imagined how much it would hurt to have this site so suddenly snatched away.
I’ll admit, I felt crushed. I thought it was all over. When I first heard the news I kind of just stared at all of my MCX stuff on my shelf, wondering if I’d just spent the last few years wasting all of my time and money. But then I logged onto the Wasteland Discord and saw my collaborators already talking about how to backup everything and migrate it to a new site to keep the story alive. I saw my collaborators in the Mega-Verse announcing plans to repost their comics elsewhere. In the Squad 45 Discord, members were reminiscing on the good old days instead of merely mourning the loss of the Gallery. Everywhere I looked, I was reminded of the strength of this community, and the importance of the creations and characters we’ve all come to cherish.
This may be the end of the Gallery, but it’s not the end of us. It’s certainly not the end of me, of Wasteland, or the Mega-Verse. The brand new MCX Wasteland subreddit is already live right now, though there’s still some work to be done to get everything back up-to-date. The existing Wasteland Discord server will also remain. I can also still be found on the Squad 45 Discord, where I’m part of the moderation team.
Finally, my Halo comics will also be returning next year! This was originally going to be a much bigger announcement that I was saving until after the Wasteland election, but circumstances have forced my hand. The story of Those Two Guys and their friends will continue exclusively on the Mega Verse Entertainment Youtube channel, where most of my past stories are already backed up in video form.
Thank you, each and every one of you, for all of the positivity and support, the memories and inspiration. I’ll miss the Gallery, I’ll miss all of you, but hopefully we’ll still cross paths out there in the community. Keep building, keep imagining, and keep collecting.
Farewell, my friends.
