This is the first Wastelands story I'm posting. Delta Swuad ventured far out into the desert hunting down what they believed was a terrorist hideout. They continued for countless miles, with nothing to see. The desert area started to merge with an odd overgrown forest, seeming to have been cleared in the middle. The soldiers jumped out of their vehicle, and hiked towards the large clearing. After hiking for a bit, 3 of the Delta Squad members refused to go any further, leaving only Delta-1 "Dust" and Delta-2 "Hunter" up for the rest of the hike. Once they'd reached the large clearing, they saw what seemed as it could be a raider post or something, with many broken vehicles and torn up buildings. Ghost noticed that Dust was starting to act strange, so he tapped his shoulder. "Are you alright?" Ghost mumbled. Dust replied "Uh, yeah ... Just not feeling to good." Ghost asked Dust repeatedly what was going on, and Dust finally said "Hall- ... Hallucinations." Ghost tugged his arm over to an area near one of the torn up buildings. Ghost set him down by a silver crate, and began to think he himself was hearing things that were nonexistent. Grumbling and odd movements are what Ghost thought he heard. Ghost passed out within the next second. They men woke up to even louder grumbling, and they immediately spring up and grabbed their guns. Deformed creature-like humanoids where coming to them ... Ghost began waving for help, and Dust started to endlessly fire bullets at the things. They began to run out of ammo, and were on their last stand. Days passed by, and Delta Squad's "Ghost" and "Dust" were never again heard from. Thanks for reading! Posting more Wasteland stories later!
