After the events of Halo 4 with the Prometheans the UNSC decided to make this weapon designed to take out a small army of Covenant or a squad of Prometheans this weapon is very large but designed to be held by a marine with effort or a Spartan with minimal. Equipped with two light machine guns and a one shot grenade launcher, the HSG has a recorded time to take a small army of covenant ( 6 grunts, 3 storm elites, 4 brutes, 2 jackals, a skirmisher and a zealot) in 10.23 seconds.
