A simple Halo Reach spartan I painted. I am interested to see how others go about making custom figures. I haven't found the best sealer to use with minis that are frequently played with. Any ideas for good clear coats?
To make this, I used a spray primer on all detachable armor pieces, but not on the black elbow pieces. I don't paint (or prime) those, as the color would rub off of them too easily. Then I do a base coat, washes, details, and then drybrushing. I follow up with three layers of clear sealant, using different levels of shiny-ness for different areas, such as the glowing light-blue lights on the thigh armor. Then I put the pieces back on the body, and I'm done.
