Casting Single-Piece Weapons

This is a project I have wanted to do for a while - we've been playing with other figure sets so we can easily create custom skins for cheap. I wanted to make some "standard" light machine guns and M4 rifles for my figures as well, and started making silicone rubber molds.
This piece in the photos is the 6th iteration of this mold - there was a lot of trial-and-error. I'm still working on getting the ammunition box to fully form (air pockets in the top corner are still thwarting me).
In all, this was fun - I'll be doing more custom weapons in the future, and seeing how adding dyes to color the weapons work.
