This figure was pretty fun to work on. A few minor headaches, but no project is complete without them.
Naturally the figure began by looking for the right parts. I needed a slim torso and one from a jackal would have been ideal but I decided to use something else in order to preserve the few jackals I have. Instead I took an old assassin's creed body and cut it apart to make it thinner and the shoulders more narrow. After a lot of trimming it was reassembled and the neck was pinned and glued in place.
The sculpting was all pretty straightforward, the only real challenge was the sword and sheath. After a few attempts at sculpting the handle I gave up on that and just cast one from an amiibo. The sheath was made by first sculpting one half of it and then making two casts which fit together to make a functioning piece. The shield is completely sculpted save for the handle.
Painting was simple enough. Everything was mixed to be as accurate as I could get it using the amiibo and screenshots for reference. I put off finishing this one for a while because the thought of painting the eyes was intimidating but I eventually stumbled my way through it mostly thanks to a very fine point marker. Not perfect but it's as good as I can get it to be.
I might do ToTK Link eventually, not sure yet.
Sculpt: apoxie sculpt, green stuff/kneadatite
Paint: vallejo
