What do you think is a more common term for the male part of the block.

I don't really know, never really referred to them before, though I would say peg.

Stud or Lug.

Every once in a while it's a post. I've never called it a Peg (I use that term for the small round bits that fit into the back of MEGA Microfigs) and I don't think I'd ever call it a Prong.
