How to you display your sets? I need some advice.

I originally posted this in the Halo forum because that is what I collect but I only got a few responses there so I’m reposting it here to hopefully get some more ideas.

I have been collecting Halo Mega Bloks/Construx pretty much since they’ve existed. However I have never really had a proper place to display them. Many of my sets are still in sealed boxes since I have no where to put them once built.

Recently my wife finally conceded that I could use part of a spare bedroom to display my sets. So I need some advice on what kind of shelves/tables to get for displaying. I have been looking at some tall bookshelves but they aren’t really that deep. Less than 12 Inches. Not deep enough to accommodate some of the bigger sets like the Scarab, Phantom, NMPD Pelican Air Base, etc. I was thinking about getting a few of these tall(6 foot) bookshelves for the small and medium sets and maybe a table to put the bigger sets on.

So anyone here with a sizable collection; what do you use to display your sets?

TBH I only display 2 sets.

• The Destiny Arcadia Jumpship. That comes with it's own display mount. It rests on my bed side table.

• The 2010 Banshee. It sits on my bedroom windowsill.

Well, I can't really "display" stuff.

Usually, I sit down and build something, and then I have to settle for whatever flat surface I can place the thing I just built on,

It has to be out of reach for my pets and preferably out of the way to reach/use other things. So yeah, I have sets atop bookshelves, covets, cabinets and coffe tables all over the house.

If you have an IKEA near you look at the detolf, that was recommended to me by an action figure collector. I wish I had one around me. I use bookshelves from walmart (they are not good quality but cheap) and some fixtures from my brothers hobby store that he no longer uses. Sometimes you can get nice displays from stores that are throwing them out. Just a few suggestions.

I just have some bookcases, hoping to get some IKEA billy bookcases soon.
