Khilbuk laughed as the guard missed him completely. He then goes for another attack.

Thain kills the guard, and turns to Khilbuk, “Let’s nae have more surprises, eh?”

Khilbuk picked up the guard’s damaged shield. “Ya really gonna carry that ugly thing?” Khilbuk shrugged, “It’s better than nothing.”

Khilbuk’s defense increased 1/2 a point.

They approached the second shack. They found the door already busted open. “Wot the-“ Khilbuk began, but was cut off by a rather surly looking old dwarf followed by a younger dwarf. “I got tired a waiting on you b’ys,* so I improvised!” The younger dwarf shook his head, “I tried to stop him.” Thain nodded, “As long as ya din’t get caught, take this,” he handed Krum, the older one, a knife. Then handed Umnur, the younger one, a sword. “Ya know how ta use that lad?”
“Nae really, but I’m a fast learner.”


*b’ys is pronounced “buys” it means “boys”

It seemed strange to him that he'd been chosen to escorting this "princess".

He sighed, the cold air forming mist out of his mouth as he tried to look into the distance: an impossible task in the blizzard.
He clutched the map, the chilly breeze of the air making it flutter around in his hands.
Growing up in an underground cavern had given him a good sense of direction but he still felt hopelessly lost.
