Well, I got a new computer, and I have a webcam I've had for ages, and so i had the idea to take photos with it. However, it really doesn't like to focus, or at least on what I want to focus on. And, when it does focus, when I take the picture, the picture's unfocused. So yeah, unless I can fix this, I may not be taking pictures for a while.

You need more light, overtop or on the target and @urboi_2010 is right, how you take the picture, no movement, with a webcam and mouse click on the same desk can cause the picture to go blurry. If your webcam is old School like mine, has a manual focus ring on the camera, your focus is a bit off, dial the focus forward a bit more on the white elite, the red Spartan in the front is messing with your limited focus range with the web cam, move the red Spartan to the right side 5 to 7 cm (inch or two) more and your focus will work much better, too much depth of field in the center for a web cam, try your center focus to be the size and depth of your face, beyond that will be progressively blurrier.

well...for starters focus works better further away or if ur gonna do it up close u gotta be still so yea
