Took a little while longer than it should have to make this little guy, because a whole mess of skin tone paint spilled all over the right upper arm and I had to fix it. I also decided not to do any weathering on this figure to keep the official MCX vibe I had with the base coat.
One thing I did do, however, was give him glow in the dark paint. I painted the targeting monocle, ammo counter, and the lights on the AR in green glow in the dark paint. If I ever buy that bottle of white glow paint, I'll redo the flashlight on the AR so that it glows.
The glow on this figure is unfortunately not as exciting as the glow on the Jackal shield, but there really isn't anything I can do about it. The parts that are painted are just too small.
I'm thinking about redoing some of my Energy Swords with glow in the dark lightning effects. I think the War Arbiter figure would look really good with a glowing shield and a glowing sword. Bottom line, I really like the glow in the dark effect, but I need to find excuses to use it on a massive scale. Due to the nature of the paint, I can't paint a figure to be glow in the dark because all of the details will be washed out. I also don't want to paint over a Warthog or something either. I would be open to any suggestions on what to use this cool paint for. I already want to try something with a computer console piece and a couple visors, but I have nothing else in mind. I'm open to suggestions for stuff to make glow in the dark.
It's a shame that glow in the dark paint doesn't actually emit illuminating light. It's more of akin to bio-luminescence.
Pics 1-5 are the figure with the lights on to show the paint job
Pic 6 is the figure with the lights off to show the glow in the dark effects
There should be 6 pics total.
