Hello guys! I'm back to show off my last custom for 2020. I was planning on unveiling a very special custom figure, but I'm still waiting for the new parts. I figured that since 2020 was such a joke, I'll instead unveil the meme, the legend, the monke himself: Craig the Brute—in Mega Construx form as a celebration since today's New Years Eve.
I've been thinking about making my very own custom Craig not long after the meme exploded and everybody was making their own Craig back in July (I think). Originally, I was going to simply take a Brute Warrior from Halo Heroes Series 12, take off his helmet and shoulder pads, and then apply wash and count it good , but then I rewatched the gameplay and noticed that there are more details that I'm overlooking, so I went back to work with our boy here. I replaced the forearms with Elite's forearm and sculpted the three circles on his belt before begin painting.
For the armors, I used gunmetal grey for the base color and then used Insignia Red for the secondary color. I also used cyan for the little details on his chest armor and knee pads and applied black wash over the armor.
For skin I used Deepkin Flesh. I added strong tone wash over the skin before I applied some drybrushing using the Deepkin Flesh. You may not be able to notice due to the lighting, but I applied some orange paint for the eyes.
The last photo will show you a comparison between my custom Craig and Brute Warrior that looks like Craig.
What do you guys think?
