Introducing my latest custom: Halo Reach Recon Spartan!
Finally got the time to paint a new figure, this one being another Halo: Reach spartan. The recon armor set in Halo Reach has always looked amazing. I had planned on painting the armor but with the recon helmet only being in a few sets, and having a low budget, it was almost impossible to get it. Until the latest blind bags dropped and provided literally the perfect opportunity, and reach fig. I chose a white and steel paint scheme because I love snow. I envisioned this guy would be dispatched in harsh snowy conditions. Also it just looks cool. White was a challenge to paint, the primer I used isn’t very good and doesn’t give solid coverage. So I needed to use several layers of white to built up a solid color. Luckily I was able to shade the armor after a little bit of trial and error with some thinner I bought. So it actually looks white at the end and still dirty. Alongside the spartan comes the trusty standard issue MA37 assault rifle. Painted one of the infinite assault rifles up as a reach one due to it being accurate in size. If my LS3D order would’ve gotten to me before I finished I would’ve painted a dmr.
