The Banished in D of D are an individual species, that have earned the nickname "Brutes" because of their thirst for blood. They call themselves Jiral Hanae, which in their language means "Divine Conquerors" (not Halo cannon). They conquer and enslave populates to do their bidding, and had a disastrous 7 000 year war with Humanity, or the "Wretched Alien Scum" as they call them. They did not make an appearance in D of D season 1, but I've referenced them enough times, for them to be part of this.
They mainly use salvaged technology from other species or cultures, most notably, their vehicles are often salvaged from old Covenant Technology, as the Covenant often dump their outdated tech on the nearest planet. Military divisions are identified by colour, so a Scout, is identified by his red markings. As well as their vehicles often being painted red, because most of said vehicles, belong to the Armoured division, of which the Scout class is part of. Ultimately, once the Human-Banished war, or "The first Universal war" was over, with the Banished losing more than half its army in one battle, and Humanity giving them an ultimatum, they were forced to flee into the most remote edges of Space, planning, plotting, until the day they rise again.
