So a few weeks ago my favorite young Brother of the Blok, Dylan Crossman aka thekiller2468, came up with a brilliant custom build for the mounted turret on the Covenant Shadow ground transport vehicle. This was a very good thing as my otherwise perfect rebuild of the Shadow was making do with the top of the Shade Turret from the L&S UNSC Cobra set. Now that Shade turret was a huge improvement over MB's (incredibly) lame turret in the stock build- but it still wasn't right.
Anyway Dylan provided an equally brilliant little tutorial for his build and shared it with me. I built the turret he designed and loved it visually but also ran into a little snag. It accommodated a non-SP original Spartan/Marine/ODST or a Jackal but wouldn't fit any sort of Elite or an SP human fig. After closely reviewing some in-game screen grabs I proceeded to rework Dylan's build to come up with what you see here in a few hours of iterative tinkering. This totally dialed Shadow turret now accommodates all new and old style Elites and Humans and the sides come up higher around the figure to better reflect the in-game version. Me likes!
So to wrap this gallery post up, ***a huge shout out to @thekiller2468*** for his efforts here as his basic design truly reflected the in-game turret and with a little reworking it is about as close to perfect as is achievable with MB's current blok catalog.
