Hint: Sorin was a Spartan II who failed argumentation, he also joined the insurrection after getting a borring desk job. Hidden Xperia made a video on him.

They both died of disease, but I can't remember what. They were growing illegal crops so they didn't seek medical attention for fear of being arrested. Then, after Sorin's dad let his mom die, he tried to murder him in his sleep but failed. He then ran into the woods and lived off the land and watched his father slowly succumb to the disease and die. He then went back into the house and buried his mother an father.
