So with my leftover pieces from the Eastman & Laird sets, I decided to see what else I could build. Turns out, that build was this comic book stand.
On a late night stroll around New York the Turtles and Casey Jones stopped off at this Comic Book Stand. The unmasked Casey is playing the part of the comic book shop owner.
Mikey bought 4 comics (the number needed to hold in his hand tight) whereas Raph and masked Casey put their money together for the Raphael Micro-series 1 shot (that being the issue where Raph met Casey Jones, which is a great read by the way).
The stand has an opening and closing awning. Inside is a heating vent, with fan on the roof. I made a small radio and placed a chair from the Rooftop Combat set inside. And lastly, but importantly, a baseball bat in a barrel, because you never know what might happen on the streets of early 1980s New York. Someone might try to run away without paying for their comics or straight up rob the comic book stand. And those lawbreakers got to be punished. Casey Jones is acting as the owner afterall.
I might have to try my hand at painting and try to modify some of my extra Casey Joneses and Shredders so I have a few more B&W characters. Sure would have been great if some sets with B&W Footsoldiers were made.
It was a quick little build, but I think it turned out alright, what do you think?
