It had been months since Fire team Delta,or what was left of it, had seen any signs of life besides the occasional Phantom of course. The nights had gotten tough, one of them would stay awake and keep watch while the others slept, then, after a time the one keeping watch would rouse the other and it was his turn. "Carter. Youre shift." Said Butch, rousing him from a thin, hollow sleep. "Gotcha." He replied with a yawn and took a seat on a large piece of rock. It wasn't long till he heard the faint sound of boots pounding against the dark earth, it was a marine! And a look of horror was spread across his face.
Carter woke Andrew and Butch. "My turn already?" Groaned Butch. Unlike him, Andrew was on his feet in a flash! "What is it?" He demanded. But not in a harsh sort of way, more like a what's wrong, and how can I help sort of way. Carter was lucky to have such a caring leader, most all the other ones where so demanding that you'd want to quit on the first day. By that time, the marine had reached them. His face was covered with dirt and grime, his uniform, torn. He collapsed to the ground in exhaustion. They all knelt beside him. "Covenant... Wipe out... Bio Bomb... 24 hours..." And with that, he drew his final breath, his eyes going blank...
