Hope You guys think the team is cool, FYI, Xenocide means, and alien species or an alien but plural, and Genocide is just one alien, the reason why I named the team" Xenocide" is because they kill alien species and wipe them out if needed.☺👍

@HALx-10 Xeno means Alien. It is not short for Xenocide which is not even a real word and that's is why it's technically a proper noun. The whole point of my essay is to say why Xenocide does not mean wiping out an alien species, and why a fireteam would never even have such a name.

@Survivor11 plus if you ever met soldiers you know typically they will do things out of the norm to make themselves unique and to serve tradition perhaps fireteam xeno has a history of whipping out sub species and is renamed xenocide by fellow troopers as a sign of endearment

This goes against the UNSC fireteam naming policy we've seen so far, where every fireteam is named after an existing common noun (which is turned into a false proper noun) from one of the 300 and something official human languages, just present on earth. In conclusion, Xenocide only fits in as a real proper noun, like "Joe", and fireteam Joe sounds silly. It's not a common noun (uh, I have no idea how you call them in English, but that's the French name translated) and cannot have an actual meaning unless it's taken from another language altogether. Therefore Fireteam Xenocide should be, "Fireteam Alien-Genocide," for it to have the meaning you attributed to it. Well, actually, the only time fireteams use an originally proper noun, it's in Halo 4-5, such as Osiris, although in ancient Egyptian, that's a common noun.

Xenocide means nothing. Just because you combine a word and a suffix does not mean it will make sense. It's as if I decided to say that the study of an alien past is Xenology, which means science of Aliens, not the science of the alien past, which would most likely take the form of Archeoxenology, much like the study of the animal past is Archeozoology (which is also why Dr. Anders is not actually an archeologist (scientist of the human past in Halo). However, Xenology does mean something, so a better example would be combining what, - i-, and -cide to make "whaticide" which lets say I said means, "Not using the word where in a sentence." "Whaticide" is literally not a word, makes absolutely no sense as -cide is not a suffixe and is therefore unremovable from the noun genocide, and furthermore you cannot just add words and decide they work.
