Pyrite has been a mercenary for General Gold for several years. Under Gold's command, he would capture pirates on the seas. As the years marched on, the pirate fleets only grew bolder, The general was at his wit's end, he told Pyrite "No more prisoners, We have no time for courts, and juries. Any man seen aboard a pirate's vessel is to be assumed a pirate, and executed promptly." Pyrite knew his job would be difficult, but one pirate ship he cleared, had an old collection of texts, from a long lost library. He spent days sifting through the tomes, learning all that he could from them.
Then the time came to test his new knowledge.
Off the horizon, he saw a black flag emerge over the waves. He spoke an incantation and felt a small flame light in his hand. Pyrite gleefully looks into the flame as the full ship is visible. He recites another invocation, and the Pirate's ship explodes into a fiery heap, slowly sinking downwards.
Amazed, Pyrite sets his sails off to tell General Gold of his new feat. To his dismay however, Gold despised this course of actions, calling it Arcane Barbarism. Pyrite was shocked, being reprimanded for his greatest accomplishment? that could not stand, he stormed out of the war room, determined to hunt and destroy as many pirates as he could, to prove his abilities worth to General Gold.
As he was leaving he noticed a hefty bounty for the head of a prolific pirate captain, going by the name Silver. That was his new target. He boards his ship to hunt down this Captain Silver, wherever he may be. Then Gold would have to accept him and his powers as the greatest tool to stop the scum of the seas.
~Another D&D figure, he is a reoccurring miniboss that will be thrown into some campaigns~
