Hey there fellow Mega Construx Fans!
Today, I'll be showing you all a closer look at the new Master Chief Vs. Arbiter set! And as a bonus, I'll be comparing the two figures and weapons against their previous versions from other sets!
The following text will be a long read comparing and contrasting and taking a deep look at this latest set. Along with my own thoughts and opinions of this set and comparisons.
This latest Master Chief uses the same Metallic Olive Green that the Warthog Run Chief uses. But this one uses a gray undersuit. The helmet uses a metallic orange visor, and has gray detailing and silver helmet lights. This chief also has a healthy amount of silver drybrush on the figure.
Comparing to the Heroes Series 5 Chief (left) and the Warthog Run Chief (right), this new chief quite literally sits in between using the new greens and metallics but with similar drybrush and weathering of the old.
UNSC Weapons: Gray Battle Rifle with silver paint. 2 black SMGs with silver paint. And two olive grenades. The next photo compares them with past variants of the same mold.
For Battle Rifles, In my collection I found the standard black and gray BRs, and the special Painted BR from the Limited Edition Halo 5 Guardians Icons pack!
For SMGs, I found the standard Black from the UNSC Marine Defense set, and the gold from the Heroes Series 10 Rookie.
For Frags, I found the gray one from the old NMPD Customizer set, and the lighter green one from the Arctic Warthog set.
This Arbiter now has the perfect silver paint scheme! It is very shiny! He uses the newer tan colored elite head, and uses the metallic purple undersuit color like the Heroes 10 Arbiter. Comparing this Arbiter (Thel' Vadam) with his other iterations (not including Ripa Moramee), this is in my opinion the best Arbiter figure yet!
I believe this is the perfect Arbiter figure that we'eve all been waiting for! The shiny silver and the purple metallic undersuit gives this figure a very premium feel, fitting as these figures are "Hero-Series-Type" figures!
Covenant weapons include: A painted Carbine. A painted Plasma pistol, and two Plasma grenades both of which are molded in the same color as the Aerial Ambush Elite! The next photo compares the Covenant weapons with past variants using the same mold.
For swords, I grabbed the standard Blue sword, the Green sword from Challenger series, Ripa Moramee's Sword, Heroes Series 5 Arbiter Sword, Let' Volir Sword, Heroes Series 10 Arbiter Sword, and the Prophet's Bane bane from the Limited Edition Halo 5 Guardians Icons pack!
For Carbines: The Standard deep purple and Purple painted carbine were from way back in the day. Warthog Run Arbiter's Carbine, and the 10th Anniversary Blind bag Gold Carbine!
For Plasma pistols: The standard grunt plasma pistol, the painted plasma pistol from the old covenant customizer pack, the gold plasma pistol from the 10th anniversary blind bags, and the Silver plasma pistol from the Banished Marauder Vs. Green Machine set!
For Plasma Grenades: Transluscent Blue from Battlescape 1, Purple from the recent blind bags with grunts, Transluscent Purple from the Arctic Hog, Purple grenade from way back. And the Orange, Apple of Eden from the old Assassin's Creed theme!
I really like Mega's idea of the "VS." Two-packs. You get two "Heroes Series type" figures, two unique colored display stands, and a plentiful amount of painted weapons for the retail price of $9.99! I had this set pre-ordered on Amazon USA for a while and it randomly showed up on my doorstep just the other day!
I highly recommend picking this set up if you can! If you missed out on any previous Arby and Chief figs this is a great buy! If you are collecting, these are obvious must-haves! Or if you are still waiting on the absolute best versions of a Halo 2/3 Master Chief and Arbiter, this is the set for you!
What do you guys think of this two pack?
