Build completed and originally publicly posted on the SBF in April 2015. This custom was based upon Bungie concept art for an NMPD Mongoose originally intended for Halo 3 ODST. I'm actually really surprised that with MB's recent run of NMPD themed builds, that an NMPD Mongoose wasn't announced at NY Toyfair this past weekend.
The build includes several DIY modified parts- The sign placards attached to the rear fenders are heavily modified L*go 1x2 L brackets. The shotgun mount is a Mega Bloks 1x5 plate with the exposed end rounded and then the endmost stud drilled out to accept the shotgun's pistol grip. Finally the storage box is a standard MB 3x3 munitions crate which i cut down and then reshaped the upper lip. Other changes made to the stock arctic camo Mongoose were essentially substituting "stealth/ODST" blue parts wherever possible to stick with the NMPD color theme that MB has already established.
A major upside of this rebuild was the repurposing of our arctic camo H3 Mongooses. I can't really say Russ and I are fans of any of the arctic themed vehicle sets and I had traded or sold off all our other arctic themed figs and vehicles. Now our NMPD forces enjoy some more variety.
Well I hope you all like this modest little mod. As always constructive criticism, compliments, and outright cloning of my handiwork is all fine (the latter for personal use only please). Stay tuned there are always more customs on the way.
