First of all, I'm not for certain that all the pictures will be oriented the correct way, but let's hope.
This fishing pole and fisherman project is actually part of a much larger future still-in-the-works project (Foot Clan road trip/vacation), but I thought I would give it it's own post to focus on the details.
Fisherman/Mountain Man was made with Captain Cutter's head and a Call of Duty body. Red jacket from Rocksteady mutagen canister.
The fishing pole was from that True Legends ninja set that I reviewed a while ago. 3 pieces for the reel: double sided clip, a holed round oner, and ah, not sure how to describe the other piece. If you want, I could make another post, showing the individual parts that I used.
For the fishing line, I used 4 pound monofilament line. For the rings to keep the line close to the pole, I broke off two small fishing hooks, then used an exacto knife to make the holes in the pole. Once I had the holes nearly deep enough, I stuck each fishing hook piece (that had the eye) into a hole, and slowly pressed them and the pole together with a vise-grip (I also put a little bit of Tacky Glue in each hole, although I'm not sure it was necessary). The top one shows a small stress mark, so I either pushed too far, or hadn't made the hole large enough.
I tried an anchor knot on both the reel and "Fishing hook" (gold clip piece leftover from the Technodrome), after looking online on how to do that. The bobber is in two separate pieces, white one had a hole in it, so you can simply adjust the height of the bobber by pulling off the smooth round red piece.
Looks like today the fisherman caught a squid, not bad considering I forgot to bate the line. I could have used an actual small fishing hook, but I wanted the pole to be safer to handle, and this way it is easier to clip onto mega construx pieces.
What do you think of it? And let me know if you want a breakdown of pieces used in the fishing pole, and I will oblige. Hopefully I will get the rest of my Foot Clan Vacation pics taken soon, sometimes it's hard to find the time.
