We were archiving older projects recently and I snapped a few quick shots of the early mock-ups of the Wind Raider.
The gray model is the very first prototype. It was built to test the size that the vehicle needed to be as well as to get a feel for what new parts may be needed to make it an actual toy.
The second model, the green one, was built to start refining the look as well as testing to see if the wings could be built on look and on budget with existing parts. We ended making new wings since the built up wings were too thick. The picture also shows the first version of the anchor. You'll also notice the hinges on the side engines. These were meant to open up to see engine details.
