There comes a time in a Halo collector's life when the tabletop or carpet winds up being inadequate for showing off his arsenal. This is where the Battlescapes come in, and the inaugural model provides a good start.
The interchangeable "mesa" tile is somewhat cheaty in being affixed to the large plate, primarily to facilitate easy reconfiguration. It's not particularly capable of affixing anywhere on its own, and you can see it if you use it to cover up the bare metal patch on the corner opposite the outpost area - it holds on more via slide-under tabs than the standard studs.
The Orange CQB Spartan and his Mongoose will do well to roll around on the terrain with caution - not only is the Active Camo Brute afoot, but the Grunts already have their stickies lit! This is one of the line's earliest "activated" variants of Plasma Grenades, featuring four cast in unpainted translucent blue plastic.
Finally, there's the vehicle display rods. They're sadly not strong enough on their own to support anything much bigger than the "sold separately" Banshee depicted on the box, but the builds they CAN prop up, they do so quite well. The click prong system offers additional flexibility for when you don't need a craft really high in the air - just plugging in a base prong, ball joint, and adapter tile can put a Ghost at a comfortable height.
Get your hands on this set while it lasts; it pairs as well with more recent Battlescapes as it does with multiples of itself!
