Finally took a trip to my Wally World and got my hands on the Heretic Leader- Sesa ‘Refumee.
This figure is probably one of my favorite Elite figures, right beside the collection of Arbiters standing together— Sesa looks really good.
The headpiece with the respirator is a very soft silicon or other soft rubber-like material, but the jet pack feels very bad (a similar material to Captain Keys’ flood biomass)
Onto his armor, his thigh armor and chest pieces are most definitely new molds, but the shoulders are painted Elite Minor pads (can’t find anything on his feet, so there’s that)
Onto my dislikes— the jetpack and respirator are flimsy, but don’t take away from the look of the figure. The plastic feels too soft compared to other figures and I hope they don’t continue using it. His jumpsuit is a lighter gray than what we’ve gotten previously, and THIS is where my main problem comes in— his skin tone. With the lighter jumpsuit color, the designers could actually use the current dark skinned Elite pieces, and make the figure accurate to the game. But no. We have a tan skinned Elite: again.
Pros
Official Heretic leader from Halo 2
New armor molds
New jumpsuit color
Cons
Flimsy silicone-esc respirator and jetpack
Soft plastic for the body
Wrong skin tone
Lack of paint applications other than chest piece and thruster unit
NON INTERCHANGEABLE HANDS
In all, I don’t think this figure belongs in the Heroes line, and feel like they will make a set similar to the scene he appears in or along those lines. The quality feels fairly low to figures in the past, especially with the swapped out forearms that prevent the changing out of hands with others to get a correct skin tone.
Overall— 6/10 for fan service to characters from previous games. It’s a good figure to finish a collection, but nothing more
