“They deployed Crusaders... the hostiles there didn’t stand a chance. Like ants crushed by a rhino.”
Initially developed by REDACTED Weapons Group, the Crusader was an answer to a bid for a UNSC armored cargo vehicle. Passing the proving grounds of Mars, the Crusader ultimately missed the mark, but found its way into the private sector markets, and more unofficially, into the hands of ONI’s private army.
The first generation was unarmed and used as cargo and troop transportation through hostile environments, but the 2nd and 3rd gen models were introduced with weapon hardpoints and warfare suites, along with Titanium-A3 armor, improved power management systems and speed. The current generation, Gen V, introduced a firewall mortar along with an AP/HE anti-material 90mm smoothbore cannon, with an optional Gauss cannon from Hannibal.
With a capacity of 5, the Crusader is limited in roles, but what it can accomplish, it does so flawlessly. Armed variants fulfill a tank hunter role, with the cannon and TOW missile fulfilling an anti-armor role, and the Gauss an anti-material. The turret is adorned with a floodlight, electrical smoke grenade launchers, and a TOW missile pod dependent on main armament.
Cargo capacity can be changed out with seats for a 3-man team and armory, or stripped out entirely.
This build has been sitting in a drawer (not) collecting dust, and definitely takes the cake for my most detailed and heavy custom builds. It weighs more than the most recent Pelican kit. Parts are mainly sourced from the Kodiak siege cannon.
