Apart from the size (which is obvious), differences include:
Origins has opening/closing jaw. MCX does not (probably too small to put in such a joint)
MCX has front paw articulation. The lack of paw articulation on the Origins renders much of the leg articulation kinda useless since you can't lay the paws flat on the surface unless the legs are mostly straight, and so you can't even replicate the fixed pose of the original 80s toy. Biggest disappointment about the Origins figure.
MCX has stripes on the tail, the Origins does not
The Origins armour colour is in an ever so slightly pinkish/magenta-ish red that I find a lil more appealing than the more maroonish MCX colour.
The Origins has the eyes already painted on the helm whereas I painted them on my MCX figure.
The MCX has ports to add parts on (like in previous pics I showed I attached He-Man's axe and shield on to the armour). The Origins has no such ability.
The MCX helm and armour attaches securely via posts & holes. The Origins figure has the armour attach via strap/buckle (like the original toy) and the helm doesn't really go on the head very securely and often got dislodged when I would move his head for posing.
The Origins helm curves in at the bottom which I like and is a lil more accurate than the very straight way they are on the MCX helm. But I used a hairdryer to heat up those areas on the MCX and carefully bent them inwards around the lower jaw of Cat and it worked nicely (and doesn't impact being able to remove the helm).
The Origins is a fun toy and great for the larger scale figures but my personal preference is for the MCX version for many reasons. And I'm glad to own the Panthor version too which I may customise into a different cat (and use the Green Battle Cat helm he came with) when I get the flocked Panthor. :)
