I will be noting a few things before I begin, first, Yan has said in the squad 45 server that the set is planned to be $75, however, they don't get to set the actual price of the set.
Secondly, this is a personal opinion coming from a halo collector of mega products since the beginning of the halo line.
Third, I know about price hikes on most items not just including mega, and this goes for prices on a ton of items both online and in-store, don't use that as an excuse to fight or create an argument in the comments, please.
With that out of the way, $75? really? To me, I don't see a set worth $75, let's break it down and see what we get out of our precious $75, one tank form? okay, two new combat forms, one chief (great, another to add to my collection), and ten popcorn boys, we'll figure five of them is equal one figure, so we get six figures, a forklift, and a set that doesn't fit with most of the halo line. Still looks great though, don't get me wrong. But I'm a bit disappointed by not having the return of the horrors that is the carrier form for the ten minifigs that you'll probably lose, and my second issue is the fact that we only get one tank form... I'm happy to be seeing the tank form return, I made a post very clear about that, but for $75, it doesn't feel right that we're getting one of them. When I think of the flood, I think of a "flood" of flood forms, a bad joke, but you get it. This set seems like we're getting less quantity for more money, don't use the container as an excuse for the price, please, I understand it's a large part, but I think most of us are after the figures and forklift, not so much the main build. Now, let's switch gears and do a comparison, If you take a look at the older halo mega sets, for example, flood invasion was a $40 dollar set that included two tank forms, one carrier, two marines, two combat forms, and ten infection forms. That set was an absolute steal and a great way to army build flood. Traxus tower feels like we're paying for the build, not for the flood that we want. Mega, if you are reading this, please either drop that price down, add more figures, or just make a note of this feedback so we can have a way to army build flood for cheap. I also don't like the idea of having so many expensive sets in one year, we already have the elephant that was pushed back to next year, and now this? I could only imagine what other sets we'll be getting. I will now leave this as a friendly reminder, prepare for your wallets to be hurting. -sincerely, one mega halo fan.
