Hey everyone! I'm Mixbrix and welcome to my first post on the MCX Gallery! I've always looked around the gallery for years since it went up, but never made an account to post on until now, and I thought it would be a great place to post my custom figures that I make as a hobby, and to also finally interact with everyone here! I mainly posted my customs for all to see on Instagram but i thought I would also share them here at the heart of the MCX community! Without further ado, here's my custom Hayabusa spartan figure and the process that went into making this figure!:
Hey there Halo fans, today I've finally come back to showcase a new HALO custom! A Hayabusa spartan!
Firstly, props to @bthal_mantakree from instagram for making the awesome 3D printed Hayabusa helmet! And thanks to @videogamecollector117 also from instagram, for hooking me up with it in the first place!
I recieved the helmet from him in early January, and decided to finally sculpt the figure in early February, and here he is finally painted up in late March! I procrastinate but I take time with the figures I make!
Alright! So besides the helmet, the entire armor set you see here was hand-sculpted by me! I tried to be 90% accurate to the in-game model! The shoulders were sculpted and they are removable pieces this time around! I also sculpted the Hayabusa chest plate accurate to the in-game model!
I even sculpted my own, more accurate Halo 3 Katana WITH a removable sheathe for the blade! To add to the ultradetail as I call it, I sculpted accurate hand armor, as well as sculpted accurate thigh pads to match Halo 3! I even sculpted the sides of rest of the belt piece to give him a more complete, accurate look! And lastly even down to the feet, I sculpted accurate boots to a halo 3 spartan!
All of the sculpting was not done in one try, it took various retries, attempts and scraps until I got the sculpt looking accurate and how I liked. I painted him up in the colors I would use back in the Halo 3 days, red and gray!
The last photo shows a comparison of an old Flaming Recon helmet and EOD armor spartan I created two years ago, compared to my work on the Hayabusa spartan I made now!
What do you think of this ultradetailed Hayabusa Spartan I made? I'd love to hear feedback or criticism!
