When I saw that the Mega Bloks Call of Duty Nuketown set only had the front of the teal and white house, I was kind of disappointed, as I think many CoD fans were. When I found a trio of the sets on Amazon Warehouse Deals for just over $20 each, I decided to pick them up and see if I could rectify the situation. Over the last week, using those 3 sets, plus bloks from a ProBuilder Space Shuttle set, a few True Legends Ninja sets, other miscellaneous leftovers, and regular trips to Nuketown on the Xbox360…I was able to put together what I think is a fair approximation of the entire house. Had to make a few compromises, like making the back of the house white instead of teal, and using slats instead of cross-hatching on the roof of the deck, but for the most part I tried to stay true to the in-game design.
I made the roofs and second floor removable so all rooms were accessible. The deck is also on a separate platform for convenience. Once I finished the structure, I started adding interior details like the flag by the front door, the desk and swivel chair, book shelves, the tacky gold sofa and chair, kitchen tile, cabinets, sink, fridge, stove, a bed, TV, the raised garage door, and eventually had to force myself to stop! It was a lot of fun and reminded me of building Lego houses with my daughters when they were young. I like how it turned out overall, and am interested to hear what other CoD fans think of it.
