Happy holidays everyone, and welcome to my quick PSA regarding the future of Wasteland.
For those who are unaware, the Wasteland series is a collaboration that was originally started by the user nigelninja11, who set out the guidelines for collaborators, and managed the broad strokes of the storyline.
However, Nigel has been absent from the gallery for quite some time, and I’ve recently confirmed that he’s unofficially retired from the site. He invited me to give Wasteland “a good close”, but given that there are several users who’ve still expressed interest in the story, myself and some of the other long-standing Wasteland writers have discussed ways to keep it going.
Before Nigel left, he made me privy to some of his long-term plans for Wasteland, so it has been decided that I’ll pick up where he left off and keep the story going. This means my personal Wasteland comics will take a bit of a back seat in favour of regular events and updates that will keep Nigel’s going, and give other Wasteland participants opportunities to react and respond (think of it like the War Contest, but actually done well).
Wasteland is an open collaboration that anyone can participate in. You can work together or alone to tell whatever story you want within the world, independent of the “main” storyline. Whether you want to write a story, make a comic, or just submit the occasional picture, there’s ways for everyone to participate. Check out the Wasteland thread over in the Roleplay forum, or ask your questions below, if you want to find out more.
