The Covenant Type 27 Mantis Heavy Anti-Air Gun

This Halo 3 themed build was completed and publicly posted in March 2015. It was a bugger of a build and ate up at least a month worth of revisions to arrive here. There were also a couple of parts modifications necessary to create a stable build. Had I used the articulated legs from the v1 and v2 Locust in their stock forum, this build would not remain standing! A little judicious application of CA adhesive prevents the leg joints from rotating out of alignment while still allowing the articulated knuckles to be adjusted to suit uneven surfaces. The final pic features the Mantis custom posed next to the stock MB Tyrant AA Gun model. While my custom is big and the relative size between the Halo 3 and Halo Reach Covey cannons is about right, both are about half the size they ideally should be.
