The last series of MCX Heroes has arrived online. Let’s take a peek into the design of these figures.
In this series, two classic characters make their debut in Mega Construx form. Three other characters get fresh new looks.
First, we heard the fans. Scareglow, the Evil Ghost of Skeletor, was difficult to find the first time around. The team was looking for the right opportunity to bring him back. The shade of purple of his cape and boots was darkened to create a fun variant to collect, but we made sure to keep the glow-in-dark feature intact.
Roboto is a brand-new figure. He is sporting his mini-comic colors and includes all the original toy’s attachments. They are interchangeable with Trap Jaw’s accessories for added play. Fun fact: The design team explored making Roboto’s ‘’jaw’’ interchangeable with Trap-Jaw’s, but it would have meant warping Roboto’s proportions, so we kept it as is.
Tri-Klops also gets the mini-comic colors treatment in this series. The team had a lot of fun applying the colors on this version and tried to match the original artwork as closely as possible.
From the start of the Mega Construx Masters of the Universe line, one of the design team’s goals was to incorporate as many of the original toys features as possible into the Micro Action Figures and vehicles.
For Man-E-Faces, given the size of the figure, it was a design challenge to include the original toy’s feature, one that the team was happy to accept. The armor is removable, and his head is a standard ball-joint, so it can be swapped with other figures.
Last, but not least, Trap-Jaw returns to the line in his original cartoon colors. This is a color variant that the team was really looking forward to. The figure includes all his previous accessories and they are interchangeable with Roboto’s.
The Masters of the Universe Heroes Series 3 is available online and retails for approximately 24.99$.
And don't worry - although this is the last MCX Heroes series, there's more MOTU coming next year. We'll have more next month.
